Per Gov. Lamont, children must now wear a mask under their helmet while playing ice hockey. Previously they only had to wear them in the locker room and when leaving the rink. Since this has been implemented, my son has had to wear a mask three times while exerting himself on the ice. He told me this last time he had to pull his mask down while playing because he could not breathe properly. When they have their quick break during the games when they are not on the ice, they cannot drink from their water bottle. And because their mouthguard is attached to their helmets they cannot wear one. Talk about a safety issue. Since he also has to wear one during school hours, his face is breaking out in little bumps.
