mandatory mask for special needs child

After asking the principal of my son’s school for an exemption to the mandatory mask mandate they implemented, due to his having Down Syndrome, he referred me to the superintendent. After stating the reasons my son should be exempt; smaller nasal passages, defiance due to his difficulty understanding why they wanted him to wear it, which in turn sets him up for failure during the school day, she denied my request! “There are no exceptions” she told me. Since I want my child to succeed, I have chosen to home-school him, so he no longer has the social time with peers that he needs/wants, not to mention all the supports he needs for learning! Some have told me I should go public with this to make others aware how this is affecting our children’s well being, especially the most vulnerable.
