Being threatened by school

I have been fighting school superintendent & county commissioners since aug. on weekly basis to lift mandate. I do not want my daughter going to school everyday wearing mask so when she complains of headaches from mask I let her stay home & do online zoom class. Well school threatened to turn me in due to attendance because unbeknownst to me the count online zoom as unexcused absences even though her teachers told my daughter…

I am a substitute teacher in an elementary school where children are being told constantly, cover your face, pull that mask up, cover your nose etc. I have been in predominantly younger grades; K5 and 1st! These kids masks are disgusting! They drop them on the bathroom floor, in the dirt on the playground, rubbing their masks on the bottom of their shoes! I witness this firsthand with their masks being wet and brown in…

We were doing well before the masked lockdowns

Our daughter died in 2015 leaving us a 7 year old grandson that had frankly lived a terrible life due to his mom’s very poor choices in life that led to her death. We spent the next few years dealing with his rage and anger though love and counseling and he was improving and learning how to cope. He played soccer, basketball, baseball in organized leagues as well as having plenty of playdates and sleep…

ASD child gets reprimanded

12 year old daughter on autism spectrum disorder continually gets reprimanded by staff at school. She has a mask exemption, however staff members refuse to help her with her needs until she puts a mask on. They tell her that they are scared she has covid and do not want to come near her. She would get yelled at while on the school bus for not wearing one. Eventually they removed her from the bus….

Masks are psychologically damaging my child

I have a six year old boy with sensory processing disorder. SPD is generally broken down into three types. My son suffers most often from Sensory Over-Responsivity. Over-responsive individuals, or avoiders, are highly sensitive to sensory input and may have extreme reactions to mild stimulation. For example, they might cry out in pain while brushing their hair or gag at very faint smells. Avoiders often feel overloaded and overwhelmed by everyday situations. As a result,…

Maskless school force masks

My daughter feels like she will vomit when she wears a mask. It also makes her feels like she is doing something wrong when forced to wear a mask. I have avoided masking my children thus far. I enrolled her in a home school program that is wonderful. They do not require masks (in California) under 10 years of age. However, one teacher who teaches pottery and art outside has decided to force the children…

Acne, Headaches, and Self-esteem

I have 2 boys (5 yo & 7 yo). They’re both healthy, clean, and active. Over the past few months I have noticed blackheads on their chins, along their noses and cheeks right where the mask sits all day. They’re way to young for that self-esteem killer. My 5 yo, who sleeps very well, complains about feeling so tired at school. Probably because his brain isn’t getting the oxygen it needs to stay awake and alert. My…

Put your “Goddamn Mask On”!

I have explained to my kids that the masks are dangerous so of course it causes them some anxiety. I told them if they need to breathe then take it down and do so and that I will deal with the consequences. The bus driver is always yelling at the kids about their masks and on one particular day he told my son to put his “Goddamn mask on”. I have printed the bus driver…

Sensory Anxiety

Our doctor provided a medical exemption for mask wearing but the school’s accommodation was a face shield. This was a worse sensory experience for my daughter. She tried wearing the mask and taking breaks outside more frequently but was unable to regulate herself. She is normally able to function in a mainstream classroom but could not handle the face coverings. We had to pull her from school. 11 year old – Female Age11LocationSandpoint ID
